Stablecoin

The coin says "stable." The exit still has conditions.

01Dictionary Meaning

A stablecoin is a crypto asset designed to track a reference value, commonly a currency such as the US dollar.

02What People Think

"One coin is one dollar, so it is basically cash."

03What’s Underneath

The target price is one part of an arrangement. Reserves, collateral or other mechanisms are used to support it, with different strengths and failure points.

A holder may sell on a market rather than redeem directly with the issuer. Market demand, access restrictions and confidence in the backing can then affect the exit price.

Where the coin is held adds another layer. A platform promising returns on it can introduce risks beyond the coin's own design. A stable reference price does not make every arrangement around it stable.

04The Game

What supports the target, who can redeem, and what route would you actually use to turn the holding into spendable money?

05One Line

Stable describes the target price, not everything holding it there.
