Solopreneur

One founder can still depend on a crowded room of other businesses.

01Dictionary Meaning

A solopreneur is someone who owns and runs a business without cofounders or permanent employees, often using contractors, software and outside services.

02What People Think

"I can do everything myself."

03What’s Underneath

The website is hosted elsewhere. Payments pass through a processor. A contractor designs the packaging. Software handles bookings.

Operating alone usually means coordinating outside capacity, not personally performing every task. That can keep costs flexible and decisions quick.

It also concentrates oversight in one person. If that person is unavailable, refunds, approvals or customer relationships may stall even while the software keeps running. The business's independence depends partly on how well those dependencies are understood and arranged.

04The Game

Which functions can continue without the founder, and which still require one person to remember, decide or approve?

05One Line

Working alone still means depending on other people's systems.
