Work can travel more easily than the arrangements around it. Time zones still shape availability. Internet reliability affects delivery. Permission to stay or work and tax obligations depend on the relevant circumstances and jurisdictions.

Earning in one market while spending in another can change purchasing power. Exchange rates and local costs can change that advantage again.

Mobility creates real options, but the photograph usually leaves out the recurring work of maintaining a legal, practical and financially sustainable base.
