A rising market can reward both careful analysis and lucky exposure. An account balance alone does not separate them.
Gains can attract new buyers, encourage borrowing and make recent success feel repeatable. Those responses can strengthen demand while increasing the amount at risk if conditions change.
Even a broad advance is uneven. Some assets fail to participate, and a strong past trend does not promise the next move. The market's direction and an investor's skill are different explanations for the same profitable statement.
